WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.), a member of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, today voted to pass a package of Fiscal Year (FY) 2026 appropriations bills, including: the FY26 Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education, and Related Agencies (LHHS) Appropriations Act, the FY26 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies (THUD) Appropriations Act, the FY26 Financial Services and General Government (FSGG) Appropriations Act, the FY26 National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations Act, and the FY26 Defense Appropriations Act.
This package, which also includes a two-week Continuing Resolution for the FY26 Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, now goes back to the U.S. House of Representatives before heading to President Trump's desk to be signed into law. Following the signing of this package into law, Senator Britt will have directly secured more than $200.7 million for the state of Alabama in FY26 appropriations funding.
"Alabama is stronger, safer, and more secure because of the funding package we passed in the Senate today. The passage of this package of bills will invest in critical medical and research equipment, fund transportation and infrastructure projects across the state, strengthen military readiness, increase our servicemembers' pay, and modernize our defense industrial base. With the finish line in sight, my work on the Appropriations Committee won't stop until all 12 bills have been sent to President Trump's desk. I am always honored to work on behalf of Alabamians and will continue fighting every day to deliver the resources, security, and opportunities our communities deserve," said Senator Britt.
