Sistrunk Boulevard Crosswalk Project

The City of Fort Lauderdale is working with AGC Electric Inc. and All Florida Trees and Landscape Inc. to construct new crosswalks at the following intersections along Sistrunk Boulevard / NW 6th Street, between NW 17th Avenue and NW 3rd Avenue, in the Durrs, Historic Dorsey Riverbend and Progresso Village neighborhoods:

  • NW 17th Avenue
  • NW 15th Way
  • NW 13th Avenue
  • NW 8th Avenue
  • NW 3rd Avenue

This project includes:

  • Constructing five new ADA-compliant crosswalks to enhance safe mobility
  • Applying crosswalk pavement markings
  • Relocating trees
  • Restoring landscaping

Construction will begin on Monday, April 13, 2026, and is expected to be completed in fall 2026. Work will take place weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Some activities, including the application of pavement markings, may take place overnight. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Traffic & Neighborhood Impacts

  • One lane in each direction of each intersection may be closed during work hours.
  • Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area.
  • Traffic control personnel will direct traffic as needed.
  • When work is taking place overnight, temporary lights will be used to illuminate the work area. The contractor will take measures to reduce light impacts for surrounding neighbors.
