New Lung Cancer Screening Grant

St. Mary's Health System received a $10,000 grant from Free ME from Lung Cancer to support early lung cancer screening for high-risk patients in the community. This funding will help uninsured and underinsured individuals access potentially lifesaving screenings in accordance with U.S. Preventive Services Task Force guidelines, reducing financial barriers for those who might otherwise go without this important preventive care. Lung cancer often has few symptoms in its earliest stages, making screening especially important for those at higher risk. By expanding access to these screenings, more people will have the opportunity for earlier detection, whentreatment is most effective.
