President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received a delegation led by Sabine Fendrich, Secretary General of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
Welcoming the guests, President Khachaturyan highly appreciated the programs implemented by the Foundation in Armenia for nearly three decades, which have played a significant role in deepening the country's democratic processes, developing civil society, and strengthening democratic institutions.
Thanking for the warm reception, Sabine Fendrich noted that the Foundation greatly values the successful cooperation established with Armenia and is ready to continue joint programs and initiatives aimed at promoting democracy, protecting human rights, and advancing education.
During the meeting, the importance of continuing educational programs, instilling democratic values among the younger generation, and ensuring their wide dissemination was emphasized.
The conversation also touched upon regional developments and the new realities created after the initialing of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan on August 8. The necessity of establishing lasting peace in the region, as well as its potential positive impact on economic development, expanded cooperation, and the strengthening of democratic processes, was highlighted.
