The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, in carrying out a support campaign for Ukraine initiated to mark Ukraine's Unity Day, has already collected nearly 14,000 euros. This amount will allow us to provide Ukraine with at least 28 electric generator units, which, in the face of Russian aggression and mass attacks on civilians and critical infrastructure, will help ensure vital support for the country's population during this harsh winter.
"Ukraine is today the bastion of European security. After nearly four years of ongoing Russian aggression, Ukraine is demonstrating unbreakable strength and resilience, fighting not only for its freedom, but also for the future of our country - and of Europe as a whole. The employees of the Lithuanian diplomatic service actively contribute to the support for the Ukrainian people, who are struggling through blackouts and enduring freezing temperatures due to the massive Russian attacks. Our goal is to inspire hope for Ukrainians, to help them survive this winter by sending warmth and light, and to remind them that they are not and will never be alone," said Kęstutis Budrys, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania.
The support funds were transferred to the organisation "Stiprūs kartu" ("Strong Together"), which, together with the Lithuanian National Museum of Art and partners, is implementing the 'Warmth for Ukraine' campaign, collecting funds for equipment critical for Ukrainians to survive the harsh winter.
