Southwestern board of directors holds special meeting to approve English instructor
Creston- The Southwestern Community College (SWCC) board of directors met in special session on Monday, Aug. 24, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., in the college's Administration Center to approve the employment of Nicholas Jackson as an English instructor for the 2026-27 academic year.
Jackson has been a teacher for Des Moines Public Schools for the past 25 years, where he taught English advanced placement and dual credit courses. In 2013, he taught as an adjunct instructor for Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny.
He earned a Master of Arts in English literature from Iowa State University; Bachelor of Arts degrees in psychology and English from the University of Iowa; and an Associate of Arts Degree from SWCC.
