Online Product Calendar

The U.S. Census Bureau provides anticipated release dates for its regular and recurring statistical products through its online product calendar. This calendar is regularly updated to reflect the most current information.

2024 Community Resilience Estimates

The U.S. Census Bureau will release new community resilience estimates by social vulnerability to natural disasters. This product helps local governments and community stakeholders plan mitigation and recovery strategies in the event of a disaster. Estimates will be released for the nation, states, counties, core-based statistical areas and tracts. (Scheduled for release Jan. 29.)

American Community Survey

2020-2024 American Community Survey

The U.S. Census Bureau will release the remaining 2024 American Community Survey (ACS) estimates in the coming months. The next data release is Jan. 29, and will include the 2020-2024 ACS 5-year estimates and 5-year Variance Replicate Estimates. The 5-year estimates will be available to embargo subscribers Jan. 27. The last release of 2020-2024 ACS 5-year PUMS (Public Use Microdata Sample) files is set for March 5. The updated release schedule is available online.

Demographic

New Data Tables on Characteristics of Same-Sex Couple Households

The U.S. Census Bureau will release new data tables from the 2024 American Community Survey 1-year estimates on Characteristics of Same-Sex Couple Households: 2005 to Present. The annual release explores demographic and economic characteristics of Same-sex Couple Households by age, race, ethnicity, educational attainment, employment status, income and home tenure. (Scheduled for release Jan. 26.)

Energy and Rental Assistance Fact Sheet

The U.S. Census Bureau will release a new fact sheet on energy and rental assistance based on data from the Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP). SIPP is a nationally representative longitudinal survey that provides comprehensive information on the dynamics of income, employment, household composition and government program participation. The fact sheet provides a quick and easy way to get statistics on recipients of energy and rental assistance for calendar year 2023. (Scheduled for release Jan. 26.)

Child Support Received Fact Sheet

The U.S. Census Bureau will release a new fact sheet on child support received based on data from the Survey of Income and Program Participation (SIPP). SIPP is a nationally representative longitudinal survey that provides comprehensive information on the dynamics of income, employment, household composition and government program participation. The fact sheet provides a quick and easy way to get statistics on parents who received child support in calendar year 2023. (Scheduled for release Jan. 26.)

Small Area Income and Poverty Estimates for States, Counties and School Districts

The U.S. Census Bureau will release new data on small area income and poverty estimates for states, counties and school districts. The new data come from the 2024 Small Area Income and Poverty Estimates (SAIPE), which provides the only up-to-date, single-year income and poverty statistics for the nation's 3,143 counties and 13,126 school districts. (Scheduled for release Jan. 27.)

Vintage 2025 Population Estimates, Components of Change and Voting-Age Population for the Nation, States and Puerto Rico

The U.S. Census Bureau will release July 1, 2025, estimates of total population and voting-age population for the nation, states and Puerto Rico, as well as corresponding annual estimates and components of change since the 2020 Census. (Scheduled for release Jan. 27.)

Social and Economic Characteristics of Currently Unmarried Women With a Recent Birth: 2023

The U.S. Census Bureau will release a new report that explores social and economic characteristics of unmarried women who gave birth in 2023. The report uses American Community Survey (ACS) data and makes comparisons, when possible, to an earlier report that used 2011 ACS 1-year estimates. (Scheduled for release Jan. 28.)

2024 Rental Housing Finance Survey

The U. S. Census Bureau and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will release the 2024 Rental Housing Finance Survey (RHFS) summary tables in the RHFS Table Creator, public use files and codebook on census.gov. The RHFS Table Creator is an interactive data tool that allows users to create custom tables of financial, mortgage, and property characteristics of single-family and multifamily residential properties for rent in the United States. Data available include property, residential structure(s), mortgage characteristics, ownership status, commercial use of space, benefits received and more. Economic

New Post-Secondary Employment Outcomes Data

The U.S. Census Bureau will release new data on outcomes of graduates. PSEO tabulations show earnings and employment outcomes for graduates of U.S. post-secondary institutions and are generated by linking graduate transcript records to Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics wage data. This offers prospective students a comprehensive assessment tool to find out how much they could potentially earn by degree and institution. The Census Bureau conducts the PSEO in cooperation with higher education institutional systems to examine college degree attainment and graduate earnings. (Scheduled for release Feb. 12.)

Call for Presentations for the 2026 Local Employment Dynamics (LED) Partnership Virtual Workshop

The U.S. Census Bureau invites you to submit a proposal to present virtually at the 2026 LED Partnership Hybrid Workshop on May 12-13, 2026. This year's theme is "Numbers to Narratives: Data for Better Decisions." The event will highlight the useful applications of data made possible through the LED State/Federal partnership including the Quarterly Workforce Indicators (QWI), the Longitudinal Employer-Household Dynamics (LEHD) Origin-Destination Employee Statistics (LODES), OnTheMap or OnTheMap for Emergency Management, Job-to-Job Flows (J2J), Post-Secondary Employment Outcomes (PSEO) and Veteran Employment Outcomes (VEO). Please visit LEHD for proposal guidance. Additional details will be posted when available. "Unlocking NAICS 5- and 6-Digit Details in the Quarterly Workforce Indicators (QWI) Data Set"

The U.S. Census Bureau and the Local Employment Dynamics (LED) Partnership in collaboration with the Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) and the Labor Market Information (LMI) Institute, welcomes Andrew Foote as he presents, "Unlocking NAICS 5- and 6- Digit Details in the Quarterly Workforce Indicators (QWI)." This presentation will introduce the newly released North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 5- and 6- digit QWI tabulations and the available demographic and firm level crossings, including sex, age, race and ethnicity, education, firm age, and firm size at the state level. (Feb. 18.)

Business Trends and Outlook Survey

The Business Trends and Outlook Survey (BTOS) measures business conditions on an ongoing basis. BTOS experimental data products are representative of all employer businesses other than farms in the U.S. economy. The data allow greater insight into the state of the economy by providing continuous, timely information for key economic measures. Data are released biweekly and are available by sector, state, employment size and the 25 most populous metropolitan statistical areas. New questions on artificial intelligence were added Nov. 17 and will be released in 2026.

The Census Bureau publishes updates in the Federal Register to keep the public informed about surveys, censuses and related activities. Some notices include a comment period during which the public can provide feedback. 2024 Planning Database

Jan. 22 - The U.S. Census Bureau released the 2024 Planning Database (PDB), which includes the Low Response Score (LRS) and other new 2020 Census operational data. The 2024 PDB contains a selection of housing, demographic, socioeconomic and operational data for block groups and census tracts from the 2020 Census Redistricting Data (Public Law 94-171) Summary File, 2020 Census Demographic and Housing Characteristics File, and 2018-2022 American Community Survey 5-year estimates.

State-to-State Migration Flows Table Package

Jan. 21 - The U.S. Census Bureau released the latest version of the State-to-State Migration Flows table package. Tables come from the 2024 American Community Survey 1-year estimates. The State-to-State Migration Flows table provides estimates of the number of people moving between origin and destination geographies. The State of Residence by Place of Birth table provide estimates of the number of people living in their current state of residence by place of birth.

Webinar on Methodology Updates for the Vintage 2025 Estimates

Jan. 20 - The U.S. Census Bureau held a webinar on methodology updates for the Vintage 2025 estimates. The Population Estimates Program (PEP) develops the official estimates of population and housing units for the Census Bureau. Every year, PEP builds a time series of estimates that starts at the date of the most recent decennial census and extends through the vintage year, which represents the latest year of estimates available. Release of Expanded NAICS Industry Tabulations in the QWI

Jan. 13 - The U.S. Census Bureau released NAICS 5- and 6-digit tabulations for the Quarterly Workforce Indicators (QWI) data product. These new state-level tabulations provide the ability to analyze the inner workings of our economy in unprecedented industry detail. Annual Updates to the Data and Methodology for Population Estimates

Jan. 15 - Written by: Eric Jensen, Senior Research Scientist for Population Estimates and Coverage Measurement, Population Division; Christine Hartley, Assistant Division Chief for Estimates and Projections, Population Division - Each year, the population of the United States grows and evolves. Births, deaths and migration are the three components of population change. A myriad of factors can affect the magnitude and speed of the changes. For example, economic uncertainty can affect attitudes toward fertility and mobility, a global pandemic can cause mortality to spike and policy changes can shape the number of people moving in or out of the country.
