Jonathan Hop Takes Home Farm Bureau Insurance State DSA Honor

Agent Jonathan Hop of Holland, Michigan was honored with the Farm Bureau Insurance Distinguished Sales Award (DSA) for outstanding sales and service across 2025 at the Farm Bureau Insurance Multi-Line Marketing Convention this February. Further building on a tradition of accomplishment, this is Jonathan's third DSA award leading the agency and the Hop Agency's eighth consecutive year capturing the statewide honor (eleventh overall).

While presenting the award Farm Bureau Insurance of Michigan CEO, Don Simon, stated, "2025 was another outstanding year for Jonathan Hop." Simon outlined Hop's distinctions and honors including Praesidium Club, Centennial Club, Circle of Champions, Executive Club, Commercial Century Club, Harvest Club, President's Council, and the Director's Cup team. He concluded, "Jonathan continues to provide exemplary insurance service in the Holland area. In addition to being the Western Partnership DSA, he is the statewide DSA for the third consecutive year."

The DSA is the top production honor given each year and represents the highest performance achievement for an individual in the company. It is presented to one statewide winner for exceptional personal accomplishments and contribution to the success of the Farm Bureau Insurance Companies.

While thanking his fellow agents, leadership, support staff and regional partners as well as his family and his wife, Abby, Hop highlighted the team at his agency while accepting the award. "None of this happens without the team we call the Hop Agency. Rachel, Holly, Elizabeth, Paula, Jen, Shawn, Dan, and Jeremy, you guys are the heartbeat of what we do."

The Hop Agency's award-winning success began in 2006 under the guidance of former agent Mark Hop, who identified the growing role his son Jonathan played in the business as a key to continued success upon the younger Hop claiming his first DSA leading the agency in 2023 (with wins in 2007, 2009, 2010, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022 awarded to the agency in-between). The agency has earned the statewide DSA every year since.

Reflecting on life and loss during his acceptance speech, Hop - who welcomed a daughter to his family this year - discussed the "importance of what we do with the time we're given," while recalling a family funeral attended this past year. "Winning an award like this makes you pause. It makes you ask yourself what really matters." Hop continued, "If we're (being) honest, people won't remember the awards as much as how we treated them. They'll remember the extra phone call we made, the time we listened to them, the moment we were present when they needed someone steady." Expounding on this message to his fellow agents, Hop noted "My hope for myself and for all of you, is to be intentional with your time; to be present, to love well, (and) to serve well," before concluding. "Thank you, again, for this honor. I'm grateful to be on this journey with all of you."
