Applications Open for 2026 Missouri Pork Internship Program

Columbia, Mo.,-The Missouri Pork Association (MPA) is now accepting applications for its 2026 internship program. One college student will be selected for a full-time summer internship in the Columbia, Missouri office from mid-May through mid-August. In addition, part-time internships are available from January through mid-May and from mid-August through December.

This program provides students the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a professional agricultural setting. Interns develop personal, organizational, and public relations skills while assisting with a variety of projects and events throughout the year. Each intern is assigned diverse responsibilities designed to strengthen leadership and communication skills.

The MPA Internship Program is open to college students who have completed at least two years (four semesters) of coursework. Compensation is competitive with similar internship programs. The application deadline is November 7, 2025, and applicants must submit three letters of recommendation with their materials.

  • The spring intern will manage the live and silent auctions at the Missouri Pork Expo, assist with In the Show Ring activities, and help plan the Missouri Pork Classic Golf Tournament, among other duties.
  • The summer interns will attend multiple Missouri Youth Show Pig Circuit jackpot shows, coordinate the fundraising auction, manage the Missouri Youth Pork Institute, Swine Health Symposium, and Missouri Pork Classic Golf Tournament, and assist with Missouri State Fair events.
  • The fall intern will assist with the membership drive, educational events, and the Missouri Pork annual magazine, as well as help plan the Swine Institute, the 2027 Missouri Youth Show Pig Circuit, and the FFA Pork Speaking Contest.
