An International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission has commenced its work in Georgia under the framework of Article IV Consultations. The mission, led by Alejandro Hajdenberg, met H.E. Lasha Khutsishvili, Minister of Finance of Georgia. The visit aims to assess Georgia's macroeconomic environment, as well as its fiscal and monetary policies.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed key aspects of cooperation between Georgia and the IMF. The Minister provided an overview of current macroeconomic indicators and shared medium-term economic forecasts. Discussions also highlighted last year's strong economic growth trends, along with the successful refinancing of Eurobonds in 2026 and the active participation of international investors in this process.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Ministers of Finance Giorgi Kakauridze, Ekaterine Guntsadze and Tsotne Kavlashvili; Irakli Kacharava, Department Head for Public Debt Management at the MOF and Simon Edisherashvili, Acting Department Head for Fiscal Risk management at the MOF
