Chinese duties on European pork
Question for written answer E-003479/2025
to the Commission
Rule 144
Bert-Jan Ruissen (ECR)
Last week, the People's Republic of China announced import duties on pork from the EU as of 10 September 2025. Traditionally, certain pork products for which no consumer demand exists in the EU, such as feet, are exported to China. The new duties will have a severe impact on European pork producers and distort the EU internal market.
