Missing work release offender returned to custody

Corrections and law enforcement officers are seeking Kevin Worsham (#0846675) who left a work release assignment this evening in Teachey, NC.

UPDATE: Kevin Worsham returned on his own to his work release location early this morning and was taken into custody. He will face felony escape charges, and is now being housed at Central Prison in Raleigh.

Corrections and law enforcement officers are seeking Kevin Worsham (#0846675) who left a work release assignment this evening in Teachey, NC.

Worsham, 44, is a black male who stands 5 feet ten inches tall and weighs about 180 pounds.

He was in minimum-custody and assigned to Carteret Correctional Center. He has criminal record dating back to 2004, including a past sex offense that requires him to register as a sex offender. He was currently serving a sentence for failure to report an address change to the sex offender registry, and breaking & entering and larceny. He was scheduled for release in December 2025.
