IU Kokomo to celebrate Homecoming September 28-October 2

KOKOMO, Ind. - Indiana University Kokomo students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends are invited to celebrate Homecoming with activities planned September 28 through October 2.

"Linked by Legacy 2026" includes a fall festival, movie night, tailgate, and volleyball games, as well as opportunities to give back to the Kokomo community through the Angel Walk fundraiser.

Activities kick off from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Monday September 28 in the Havens Room (KO 134) with Crafty Cougs. Bring your own craft project and enjoy friendly company while you create. Email [email protected] for more information.

On Monday, you can also polish your comedy skills with improv comedy games, starting at 6 p.m. in the Kelley Student Center, Room 130. Practice thinking on your feet, try new ways to be funny, and have fun with performers and the audience.

The focus shifts to giving back with the Angel Walk on Tuesday, September 29. The walk is a one-mile fundraising walk and rally against domestic violence and sexual assault, benefiting the Family Service Association of Howard County's domestic violence shelter. The rally begins at 5:30 p.m. in Alumni Hall, followed by the walk at 6 p.m. Participants will receive a free T-shirt while supplies last.

Festivities continue from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, with the fall fest and T-shirt giveaway (while supplies last) in Alumni Hall. The fall fest includes a game of giant inflatable KAPOW, treats, and more.

Cougar fans are invited to a cornhole tournament from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 1 at Kokomo Municipal Stadium, before the women's soccer game against IU East.

Also on Thursday, alumni will take center stage at the Alumni Hall of Fame awards program from 6 to 8 p.m. in Alumni Hall and Kresge Auditorium. The IU Alumni Association Kokomo Region will honor recipients Lori Dukes, Douglas Hall, Ph.D., Dr. Christopher Hayes, and Jennifer Hindman, DBA. Friday's festivities continue with a tailgate from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Pavilion parking lot, with food, games and activities, a DJ, and line dancing. The event is family friendly, and registration is required at connect.myiu.org/index.cfm/events:register/home/eventId/24803.

After the tailgate, Cougar fans will head into the Student Activities and Event Center to support the women's volleyball team as they take on IU Southeast in the Homecoming volleyball game. Wear your cream and crimson, connect with friends, and help create an electric atmosphere as we rally behind our team!
