Gov. Braun Growing Jobs, Wages with New Manufacturer V Tech Conversions in Northern Indiana

PLYMOUTH, Ind. - Indiana Governor Mike Braun announced today the launch of a new Indiana manufacturer, V Tech Conversions. The company, which specializes in producing mobile workspaces for infrastructure projects, will create up to 25 new, high-wage jobs in Marshall County by the end of 2028.

"Indiana has a long history of excellence in advanced manufacturing, making our state the right pick for V Tech Conversions to start and scale with confidence," said Gov. Braun. "The company's presence in the South Bend-Elkhart region will contribute to a robust and growing regional economy while creating new, high-wage career opportunities that allow Hoosiers to prosper."

"We want Indiana to be the best place in America to start a business, grow a business and build a great career," said Indiana Secretary of Commerce Chuck Goodrich. "V Tech Conversions is a great example of what that looks like - a homegrown company investing in its community, creating high-wage jobs and building products that support critical infrastructure. Our job in commerce is to help companies like V Tech grow faster so they can create more opportunities for Hoosiers and strengthen Indiana's economy."

V Tech Conversions is investing more than $2.5 million to start and scale its operations in Plymouth over the next several years. The company has already built out and equipped a 16,000-square-foot facility at 2525 Western Ave. after acquiring the space in June, and it launched initial production in July. V Tech Conversions specializes in developing mobile workspaces, including fiber splicing lab units designed for fiber optic installation and maintenance crews as well as underground inspection units to support companies inspecting underground utilities, sewer systems and related infrastructure.

The company has already hired 11 associates and plans to grow its team to 25 in the coming years to support its customer base of municipalities, utility providers and infrastructure companies. New positions are expected to offer average wages at 165% of the Marshall County average.

"We chose Plymouth because this is home. We believe in building our future right here, surrounded by the people and community that helped shape who we are," said the V Tech Conversions leadership team: President Wayne Nifong and Managing Partner Derek Nick. "Our vision for growth is simple: never sacrifice quality for quantity. We're committed to building products we're proud to put our name on, products our customers can depend on, and products that are built to last. For us, success isn't measured only by how much we grow-it's measured by the reputation we build, the trust we earn, and the quality we leave behind."

Indiana is home to the highest concentration of manufacturing jobs in the nation, supporting more than 9,000 manufacturing operations that account for approximately 25% of the state's economic output. The state is committed to supporting companies of all sizes and at every stage, ensuring Hoosier founders and entrepreneurs like V Tech Conversions have the resources and tools needed to start and scale. That's why Indiana supports nearly 600,000 small businesses statewide that provide more than 1.2 million Hoosier jobs.

V Tech Conversions will help fill a critical need in the infrastructure sector, providing specialized, clean and organized mobile workspaces for infrastructure, utility and municipal crews to perform critical fieldwork safely and efficiently.
