Chancellor's Communique: Thank You for an Amazing Homecoming

Dear NCCU Community,

North Carolina Central University's The Ultimate Homecoming Experience 2025 has drawn to a close, and I could not be prouder of the Eagle community. This year's celebration reflected the true spirit of NCCU, where our unity, pride and purpose were evident in every event, performance and gathering. Our football Eagles played in front of a sold-out stadium, and our fans projected a sea of maroon and gray in every direction.

This year, we made important and difficult choices to strengthen campus safety. These bold decisions, while not always easy or popular, proved effective in helping to deter acts of violence and maintain the positive, celebratory atmosphere that makes homecoming so special. I am grateful for your understanding and continued support as we upheld both the spirit and safety of The Ultimate Homecoming Experience.

I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, trustees and friends who made this an extraordinary weekend on the sloping hills and verdant green. Your energy and commitment embody the best of who we are as Eagles.

I also wish to sincerely thank our local, regional and state law enforcement partners, as well as our campus safety officers, for their professionalism and vigilance throughout the week's events. Their efforts, along with those of our emergency management and public safety teams, ensured a secure and welcoming environment for all.

To our guests and visitors who joined us from across the nation, thank you for celebrating alongside us and for sharing the joy and legacy of Eagle Pride.

This homecoming was a powerful reminder that NCCU continues to rise strong, united and purpose driven. Together, we will keep soaring higher at the university where purpose takes flight.
