Work that was addressed the week of June 2nd:

  • The concrete planter boxes and finish sidewalk areas on Chicago Street, from Jefferson to Clinton Street have been placed
  • The remaining curbs on Chicago Street, between Clinton and Cass Streets have been placed
  • ComEd's reconstruction of the underground vault in front of the library

Work that will be addressed the week of June 9th:

  • The concrete base for the brick paver areas will continue to be placed north of Van Buren to Cass Street
  • Electrical work within the City Square will continue
  • Planter boxes along Chicago Street, in the City Square area, will be prepared
  • Plumbing connections for the new fountain features at the south end of the square will be made
  • Foundation work for the gathering area and small stage will begin
  • Parking along Chicago Street adjacent to the work zones will be restricted while crews are actively working. Daily closures can be expected
  • Chicago Street, between Clinton and Cass Street will remain closed to all traffic
  • HMA patching of utility trenches on Cass Street and on Scott Street at Clinton will be completed

Looking southeast from above the main stage, work continues in all areas of the City Square

The foundation areas for the gathering area and small stage have now been prepared for concrete work to commence

Work continues on plumbing connections for the new water features at the south end of the square
