DHCare Signs Definitive Agreement to Acquire Ottobock’s Human Mobility Division

The carve out and acquisition marks a significant step in building a leading European provider of Mobility solutions

London, United Kingdom - 19th June 2026

DHCare, recently formed from the acquisition of Invacare Europe and DHG, has signed a definitive agreement to carve out and acquire the Human Mobility division of Ottobock, a globally recognised provider of complex power wheelchairs and specialist mobility solutions. The planned acquisition would represent DHCare's first under its new ownership structure with Rhône, a global private equity firm, and marks a defining step in building a truly comprehensive Mobility platform that can serve all end users, clinicians, dealer partners, and healthcare systems across Europe.

The transaction, which remains subject to the satisfactory completion of customary closing conditions expected to complete in H2 2026, would bring together DHCare's decades of clinical expertise and breadth of portfolio across Mobility and Care Management, with Ottobock Human Mobility's deep technical heritage and strong presence in the DACH region, particularly in the provision of complex power wheelchairs.

The combination of DHCare and Ottobock Human Mobility would form one of Europe's most comprehensive offerings in the post-acute mobility segment, spanning Manual and Powered Wheelchairs, Power Add Ons, Complex Rehabilitation Solutions, Pressure Ulcer Prevention, Safe Moving & Handling, and Care Environment solutions. Customers, dealer partners, and end users across Europe would benefit from access to an expanded portfolio underpinned by a shared commitment to clinical outcomes, health economic evidence, and product quality.

Ottobock's Human Mobility platform brings recognised strength in Complex Power Wheelchair provision, an area of growing clinical and commercial importance across European healthcare systems, as well as a significant presence in the DACH region, complementing DHCare's existing pan-European footprint and creating a strong, more geographically balanced group. Together, the combined entity will be well positioned to support customers and end users across both the continuum of care and individual mobility needs - from everyday mobility requirements through to the most complex clinical cases.

The completion of the proposed transaction is subject to customary consultation processes, approvals, and closing conditions. Financial terms have not been disclosed.

In connection with this transaction, the French subsidiaries of both groups have entered into exclusive negotiations for the sale of the French Human Mobility business, and the relevant employee information and consultation processes will be initiated shortly.
