La Placita Parkette Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

The City is excited to announce a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, January 29th, at 3:00 p.m. at La Placita Parkette to unveil the newly renovated playground equipment! In following the Parks Initiative Plan, the La Placita playground highlights a citrus theme. The playground features a new, ADA ramped 5- 12 year age playground, 2-5 year age play elements, a shaded play structure, two slides, an ADA accessible rocker, flower talk tubes, a mule spring rider, a tractor climber, play house, a Merry-Go-All spinner, and orange and lemon tree climbers. In addition, new benches, BBQs, picnic tables, a walking path, improved lighting, and beautiful new landscaping have been installed. The City extends a sincere thank you to the California Department of Parks and Recreation Office of Grants and Local Services, which administers the Proposition 68 grant that funded the La Placita Parkette renovation.
