The Mexican Government continues to provide assistance for nationals in Lebanon
  • The Mexican Government continues to assist in efforts to evacuate its nationals from Lebanon
  • Mexico extends its thanks the governments of Australia and Canada for including seven Mexicans who asked to leave Lebanon on humanitarian flights

As part of its ongoing efforts to provide consular assistance and protection to Mexican nationals in Lebanon, a group of six Mexicans departed today on a flight to Istanbul, Türkiye, with support from the Canadian Government. Upon arrival, they were greeted by Ambassador José Luis Martínez y Hernández; the head of the Mexican Consular Section in Ankara, Araceli Yali Noriega Curtis; and the acting consul in Istanbul, Minister José Eduardo Buenrostro Vielmas.

On Friday, October 11, another Mexican citizen traveled to Cyprus with the assistance of the Australian Government. They were met by Mexico's Ambassador to Greece, Alejandro García Moreno, who traveled to Larnaca airport to ensure their safe arrival. While some evacuees will proceed to Mexico, others plan to stay in Europe.

The Mexican Government expresses its sincere appreciation to the governments of Australia and Canada for including Mexican citizens who asked to leave Lebanon on these humanitarian flights. Our embassy in Lebanon maintains constant contact with those who have decided to remain in the country, while continuously exploring all potential evacuation routes.
