Scheduled Pothole Repairs Planned: March 23–27

The City of Santa Fe Complete Streets Division will conduct scheduled pothole repairs across the city March 23-27, 2026, in preparation for the spring and summer seasons. During this time, the Complete Streets team will focus on repairing potholes to help ensure safer conditions for residents and visitors to Santa Fe.

Potholes typically develop through a combination of moisture, traffic, and temperature changes, as water seeps into cracks in the pavement, freezes and expands during colder temperatures, and repeated vehicle traffic breaks down the weakened asphalt. Because of this ongoing cycle, routine pothole repairs are an important part of maintaining safe and reliable roadways.

Where Crews Will Begin

Repair crews will start with high-traffic arterial roads, including Cerrillos Road, St. Michael's Drive, and Rodeo Road, before moving into residential and other streets throughout the city.

Improved Repair Equipment

In 2025, the City acquired a new Thermolay pothole patching truck. This specialized equipment allows crews to remove damaged asphalt, prepare the base, and install hot-mix material for longer-lasting, higher-quality repairs.

The City of Santa Fe looks forward to another productive year improving roadway conditions across the community.
