In honor of Bi+ Visibility Week, the City of West Hollywood is proud to co-sponsor a lively discussion and celebration of bi+ narratives on screen and beyond at Bi+ Narratives in Film & TV: A Panel Discussion and Celebration, hosted by Rewrite the BiLine.
This free event will take place on Friday, September 19, 2025 at 6 p.m. at the City of West Hollywood's Council Chambers/Public Meeting Room, located at 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard, The event is no charge to attend; RSVPs are required at: RewriteTheBiLine.eventbrite.com.
This event will celebrate the representation of bi+ characters and storylines on screen, and will feature a panel discussion with industry experts, actors, writers, and producers sharing insights and experiences on crafting authentic bi+ narratives. Joining the panel are the following:
The panel will be moderated by Christina Fialho (she/her), founder and president of Rewrite the BiLine. An award-winning social entrepreneur, Christina co-authored the first industry guide on bi+ representation in film and TV and has partnered with artists to drive cultural and policy change. Her work has appeared in a Netflix Emmy award winning series and outlets including the San Francisco Chronicle, Newsweek, Out, and Rolling Stone. She also serves on the board of directors of the nonprofit organization, It Gets Better.
The event will be emceed by Rose Montoya, (she/they), a trans Latina advocate, educator, writer, and content creator. She's best known for her viral Trans 101 series and her work with nonprofits, companies, and government agencies to help advance trans inclusion.
Rewrite the BiLine aims to rewrite the narrative on bi+ people and non-nuclear families in film, television, and the media through script-to-screen consulting, public education, and investment in bi+ voices in order to create lasting social and political change. Since incorporation in 1984, the City of West Hollywood has become one of the most influential cities in the nation for its outspoken advocacy on LGBTQ issues. No other city of its size has had a greater impact on the national public policy discourse on fairness and inclusiveness for LGBTQ people. More than 40 percent of residents in West Hollywood identify as LGBTQ. The City has advocated for more than three decades for measures to support LGBTQ individuals and has been in the vanguard on efforts to gain and protect equality for all people on a state, national, and international level.
