NYC PARKS CUTS THE RIBBON ON NEWLY RENOVATED ALLEY POND GOLF CENTER

A nearly $10 million overhaul of the longtime neighborhood golf facility brings new turf, upgraded driving range bays, simulator rooms, and a refreshed restaurant, with state-of-the-art tracking technology and an integrated mobile app for players of all skill levels

NYC Parks Commissioner Tricia Shimamura today joined Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, New York State Senator Toby Ann Stavisky, Council Member Vickie Paladino, CEO of Knox Golf Academy Susan Fei Ren and community members to cut the ribbon on the newly renovated Alley Pond Golf Center in Queens. A neighborhood staple for many years, the facility has undergone a complete transformation under new operator Knox Golf Academy Inc., which has committed nearly $10 million in capital investments as part of its license agreement with Parks.

"Alley Pond Golf Center has been a home away from home for generations of Queens golfers, and today we are proud to reopen it as a modern, dynamic destination for the whole community," said NYC Parks Commissioner Tricia Shimamura. "Thanks to the investment and vision of Knox Golf Academy, this beloved facility now offers state-of-the-art technology alongside the same neighborhood charm New Yorkers have always loved. Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned player, Alley Pond Golf Center has something for everyone, and we can't wait to see the community tee off in this reimagined space."

The multi-phase project has already delivered new turf, upgraded driving range bays, renovated simulator rooms, and updated restrooms and restaurant/bar space, with mini golf and an upgraded putting area, parking lot, landscaping, and terrace still to come.

In addition to its signature driving range, Alley Pond Golf Center offers simulator rooms, a putting green, mini golf, and food service. As part of the renovation, Knox has installed advanced tracking systems, digital displays, and interactive gameplay technology to create a more modern, engaging experience for golfers of all skill levels. The upgrades also include a new integrated mobile app that allows users to book tee times and track their performance and statistics directly from their devices.

Prior to assuming their new license agreement, the principals of Knox Golf Academy were longstanding local users of the Alley Pond golf facility. The organization specializes in youth development, golf instruction, and player training programs, with a mission focused on introducing new participants to the game while helping experienced golfers refine their skills.
