Week in Review: It’s Inauguration Eve

Good news! We are just one day away from the 60th Presidential Inauguration. That means we are just one day away from having President Donald J. Trump back in the Oval Office!

It's crucial that President Trump has his team in place as quickly as possible, and I'm glad to see that the Senate is acting swiftly. This week, several of his nominees had hearings in the Senate, including Pete Hegseth, the nominee to lead the Department of Defense. I had the honor and the privilege to escort several Gold Star mothers from Florida's 21st Congressional District to the hearing, who traveled to Washington to show their support for Mr. Hegseth. Their presence in the hearing room underscored a key difference between the current administration and the future one: the Trump administration respects those who put on the uniform and serve our nation, and it respects the families that support them.

Another key difference is that America will once again lead from a position of strength. That's more important than ever, and we saw that this week as Israel and Hamas reached a ceasefire agreement. We don't trust Hamas, but we do trust that President Trump has put the fear of God into those terrorists.
