Statement on New Medicaid Work Requirements

Portland, Oregon-Disability Rights Oregon is responding to the announcement of new Medicaid work requirements beginning January 1, 2027. Beth Brownhill, Managing Attorney at Disability Rights Oregon, issued the following statement:

""The new Medicaid work requirements and the administrative red tape of this rule are direct threats to the lives and independence of Oregonians with disabilities. These changes reduce access to health coverage, undermine coverage stability, and increase the risk of coverage loss.
