LIG Nex1 (CEO: Shin Ick-hyun) has been renamed as LIG Defense&Aerospace (LIG D&A) to mark its 50th anniversary and announced its vision to become a global comprehensive defense company encompassing various fields of aerospace.

The renaming was approved at the 24th regular general meeting of shareholders held at the company's Yongin House on March 31. The company's new name signals its will to lead the future battlefield environment by adding cutting-edge space technology capabilities to its defense industry expertise accumulated over 50 years through the combination of the terms 'Defense' and 'Aerospace.'

LIG D&A has established itself as a leading company in the Republic of Korea's defense industry by developing and mass-producing advanced weapon systems highly sought-after in domestic and global markets. Based on its solid technological competence and infrastructure, the company is strengthening investment in the field of future defense and expanding business portfolios in areas such as satellite systems that will lead the new space age; next-generation airborne weapon systems that will be central to air force power in the future; and unmanned platforms, a game changer on the modern battlefield. At the same time, it will devote efforts to diversifying export strategies based on advanced technological capabilities and going beyond Asia and the Middle East, exploring new markets in Europe, the U.S. and Latin America to emerge as a global defense company.

The company's renaming is expected to reinforce its identity as a comprehensive defense company that has grown in step with the Republic of Korea's self-reliant defense development, strengthen its brand competitiveness in the global market, and mark a turning point toward future technologies, driving further expansion.
