City invites input on Edmonton’s Climate Future and Wildfire Risk Strategy

The City of Edmonton invites input into projects, policies and initiatives that grow communities, establish government services and prepare the city for the future. Below are current opportunities for Edmontonians to shape the city.

Supporting healthier and more inclusive communities:
  • Shaping Edmonton's Climate Future.The City of Edmonton is doing a Climate Action Plan Update (2027-2030) to ensure existing strategies remain effective and adapt to changing local priorities. The new actions will build off the momentum the City has made so far in responding to a changing climate. To participate in public engagement opportunities visit engaged.edmonton.ca/climateactionplanby January 20, 2026.
  • Industrial, Commercial and Institutional Waste Roadmap.Representatives involved in food and organics and construction and demolition are invited to provide feedback on shortlisted actions to reduce waste in these areas by January 30, 2026. To learn more about the project, provide feedback or register for a virtual workshop, visit engaged.edmonton.ca/ICI-Waste-Roadmap.

Changing neighbourhoods to meet changing needs:
  • Webber Greens Street Lab Evaluation.A Vision Zero Street Lab evaluation survey is currently underway in Webber Greens. Visit engaged.edmonton.ca/webbergreensevaluationstreetlabto provide your lived experiences and feedback on the installed measures to improve traffic safety. What you tell us will help us evaluate the project and consider any possible adjustments for the Webber Green Street Lab. Engagement is open until December 16.
  • Belgravia Traffic Review.Share your thoughts on traffic flow challenges in the Belgravia area. Visit engaged.edmonton.ca/BelgraviaTrafficReviewto provide feedback directly or sign up for the online Q&A session, a walking tour or a Chat With a Planner session. Engagement is open until December 21.

Defining what Edmonton will look like in the future:
  • Wildfire Risk Strategy.As Edmonton grows and climate change brings hotter, drier summers, the risk of wildfire in our river valley and natural areas is increasing. Edmontonians are invited to review the draft Wildland-Urban Interface Wildfire Risk Strategy overview and share their thoughts until December 22 by visiting engaged.edmonton.ca/wildfirestrategy.
