West Metro Veterans Fair celebrates veterans for the 13th year

The Elks Lodge and the City of Lakewood are proud to announce the 13^th annual West Metro Veterans Fair. The event will take place on Thursday, Sept. 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Lakewood Elks Lodge #1777, 1455 Newland St.

The West Metro Veterans Fair continues its tradition of honoring all branches of the armed forces. This event provides veterans with a unique opportunity to network with over 50 nonprofit organizations that provide support and services tailored to their needs. These organizations will offer a comprehensive array of benefits and information for veterans and their families to explore including benefits consultation, counseling services, employment opportunities, health care options and housing assistance.

Additionally, specialized support kits will be available for veterans who are experiencing homelessness, and a complimentary barbecue lunch will also be provided during the event.

Flu shots will be available to veterans enrolled with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Veterans can enroll with the VA by providing a DD-214, if eligible.

"As the 13th annual West Metro Veterans Fair draws closer, I am honored to serve as the Master of Ceremonies for another year. Connecting veterans with essential resources and a supportive network remains at the heart of this gathering," said Chris Hoeh, a United States Army veteran and sergeant with the Lakewood Police Department. "I look forward to celebrating those who have served and helping ensure they receive the recognition and assistance they have earned."
