President Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ishkhan Zakaryan, President of the World Committee of Pan-Armenian Games

President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ishkhan Zakaryan, President of the World Committee of Pan-Armenian Games.

During the meeting, Ishkhan Zakaryan presented to the President the work being carried out by the Committee in preparation for the upcoming Pan-Armenian Games, as well as planned initiatives and programmes.

The President and Ishkhan Zakaryan discussed the preparations for the Pan-Armenian Games, emphasizing their importance not only from a sporting perspective, but also in terms of strengthening Armenia-Diaspora ties, promoting Pan-Armenian unity, and fostering connections among young people.Ishkhan Zakaryan also presented details of the project for the Pan-Armenian Games Sports Village planned in the area adjacent to the Jrvezh Forest Park, with the support of the Government of the Republic of Armenia. It was noted that the foundation stone-laying ceremony for the village is planned to take place in the near future.

The planned Sports Village will be a multifunctional complex that will serve as accommodation for participants and as a venue for organizing the Games during the Pan-Armenian Games. Outside the Games period, it will continue to operate as a permanent platform for youth, sports, and Armenia-Diaspora cooperation.

It was emphasized that the village will provide an opportunity to host young people from Armenia and the Diaspora in Armenia throughout the year for joint educational, cultural, sports, youth and other programmes. It could become a continuous environment for young people arriving from different countries to meet, interact and cooperate, facilitating the establishment of new connections and the development of new initiatives. It could also serve as an effective platform for Pan-Armenian initiatives and programmes implemented jointly with and by the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund.

During the meeting, the role of the Pan-Armenian Games as an important platform for bringing together Armenians in Armenia and the Diaspora, strengthening ties among different communities, and encouraging the engagement of the younger generation was emphasized.

The meeting also addressed initiatives aimed at the further development and expansion of the Pan-Armenian Games.
