Water Main Projects to Start September 18

The City of Fort Morgan has scheduled its 2025 water main replacement work, which will involve traffic disruptions and water outages starting next week.

On Thursday, September 18, repair work will be occurring on the 1000 block of E. Platte Avenue. This project will require lane closures and traffic diversions in the construction zone so motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible. Thru traffic will be allowed with potential delays. Paving operations will follow at a later date, but the lane closures shall be removed when the construction zone is deemed safe.

The next water main project will begin Monday, September 22, 2025. Starting on Simpson Street the water main will be replaced between E. Platte Ave and E. Riverview. Upon completion, the crew will move to E. 8th Avenue from Main Street to Sherman Street. Each of these installations is expected to last several days.

During the course of these projects there will be road closures and water service disruptions. The affected residents will be notified separately. Paving operations will follow after the completion of the water main replacements.

The final water project will take place along Highway 34 between Barlow Road and the Industrial Park. There are no traffic or water interruptions are expected during this installation.

The City's Water Department thanks you for assistance in completing this project. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the Water department at 970-542-3911 of email [email protected] or [email protected].
