Scottish Government support for fossil fuel exports.
On the 26th of January 2021, the Scottish Government announced its intention to end direct support for the fossil fuel energy sector overseas, in line with the UK Government's announcement in December, and their intention to consult industry.
OEUK opposed this significant change in Scottish Government policy, which could undermine the oil and gas industry and its energy supply chain internationally and in Scotland.
OEUK consulted members through the Government Relations Working Group, the SME Forum and Joint Council. Based on their feedback our key requests to Government were:
