OAK BROOK, Ill. (Jan. 26, 2026) - The American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) has joined the American College of Radiology (ACR) and Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) as a RadiologyInfo.org ™ partner.
RadiologyInfo.org is a trusted source of information for patients, families and health care providers about the vital role of medical imaging, image-guided therapy and radiation therapy in health care.
"The ASRT is incredibly excited to join the ACR and RSNA as a partner to educate the public about medical imaging and radiation therapy procedures," said ASRT CEO and Executive Director Melissa B. Pergola, Ed.D., R.T.(R)(M), FASRT, CAE. "As the public becomes more aware of the vital role medical imaging and radiation therapy plays in health care, it is crucial that they have up-to-date resources and tools to prepare prior to their exams."
"RSNA is pleased to welcome ASRT as a partner on RadiologyInfo.org," said Anne M. Covey, M.D., RSNA Board Liaison for Public Information and Professionalism. "Radiologic technologists have extensive experience working directly with patients in imaging suites and procedure rooms. Their perspective and expertise will help us ensure that patients are getting accurate information about the range of imaging studies and procedures performed in diagnostic imaging."
"Technologists are the point of contact for most patients who are undergoing a diagnostic imaging examination. They are essential partners for radiologists in patient care," said Andrew J. Gunn, M.D., associate professor and director of the Division of Interventional Radiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and co-chair of the RSNA-ACR Public Information Website Committee. "The collaboration with the ASRT will bring this important point of view into the conversations about site content."
RadiologyInfo.org, available in English and Spanish, features information about X-ray, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, ultrasound, radiation therapy and other procedures. It also outlines patient procedures, safety protocols, pediatric care, and tests and treatments.
The website explains in easily understood language how imaging procedures are performed, describes what patients may experience, and provides guidance on how to prepare for the exams. It also offers articles and videos to help patients understand their radiology reports. All material on RadiologyInfo.org is reviewed and approved by medical experts in the field of radiology.
Launched in 2000 by the founding partners, RSNA and ACR, RadiologyInfo.org averages more than 11 million visitors each year. ASRT plans to incorporate the website into its communication and campaign initiatives to ensure its more than 156,000 members can share the information with patients, educators and the public.
