Emergency Warming Centers January 18

24-Hour Emergency Warming Centers will open on January 18 at 9:00 pm:

In partnership with the City of Memphis, the Hospitality Hub operates two warming centers open for those who need to escape the cold. Beginning tonight, the centers will be open 24 hours a day until further notice.

Single women and their families will be housed at the Hospitality Hub, 590 Washington Avenue, and single men and couples will stay at the First Baptist Church, 200 East Parkway North.

Transportation to the warming centers can be arranged by calling Memphis Area Transit Authority (MATA) at 901-297-1680 during warming center hours. During their regular business hours, Memphis Public Libraries and Community Centers are also places where residents can stay warm.

Check the Hospitality Hub's Facebook and Instagram for the most updated details.

The Warming Center is a temporary facility for those in need of a place for respite from the cold weather and is not meant to replace the services provided by a shelter. Single men seeking overnight shelter are encouraged to seek assistance from the Memphis Union Mission at 383 Poplar Ave, 901-526-8403 (IDs and COVID vaccination card/proof of negative test required; free before 11 am, $6/night 11 am-7 pm), or MIFA, 901-529-4545
