Fatal Parkway Crash

On October 22, 2024, at approximately 9:00 p.m., the New York State in Poughkeepsie responded to a fatal motor vehicle crash on the Taconic State Parkway in the town of Lagrange.

Initial investigation determined Vikrant K. Sharma, age 45, of Putnam Valley, NY, was operating a 2023 Toyota Camry southbound at a high rate of speed and left the roadway for unknown reasons before striking several trees. Sharma was pronounced deceased on scene by responding paramedics.

This investigation remains ongoing.
