Behind Lockheed Martin's most impactful third quarter 2026 innovations
From facilities investments to accelerated innovation, Lockheed Martin's Q3 showcased the power of investment and innovation.
Skunk Works® is expanding production of Lockheed Martin Vectis™ with four additional vehicles, advancing the autonomous aircraft toward its planned first flight in 2027. The milestone demonstrates how investment in advanced design and manufacturing is helping accelerate the development of survivable, adaptable capabilities for the future fight.
We unveiled MORFIUS™ X-Rotor, a new airborne high-power microwave counter-UAS system designed to neutralize more than 50 drones in a single flight. The reusable, one-to-many capability offers an affordable, scalable approach to defending against increasingly sophisticated drone swarms.
Our acquisition of Ultra Maritime will strengthen our portfolio of advanced undersea warfare and anti-submarine warfare capabilities. It will also expand our ability to deliver sonar, sensing and autonomous maritime solutions to U.S. and allied naval forces.
We're investing millions to develop a Modular Payload Delivery System designed to transform proven hypersonic technologies into a flexible family of systems. The modular approach will enable rapid integration of diverse payloads while reducing traditional development timelines and costs, helping accelerate hypersonic capabilities to the warfighter.
Marking a major milestone in the allied nation's transition to next-generation airpower, we presented Germany's first F-35A Lightning II. The delivery strengthens interoperability and mission readiness across NATO while expanding the F-35's role as a cornerstone of allied security.
We signed a framework agreement with the Department of War to accelerate production and delivery of the AIM-260 Joint Advanced Tactical Missile. The agreement advances a critical air dominance capability designed to provide increased range and effectiveness against current and emerging threats.
Sikorsky secured an Army contract for 16 additional BLACK HAWK® helicopters, supporting continued production of the proven aircraft. The agreement also establishes a path toward a new multiyear contracting vehicle, providing greater flexibility to meet evolving U.S. and allied demand.
We secured an additional $114 million in U.S. Space Force contracts to continue modernizing the GPS ground segment. The work will strengthen the resiliency of a critical national security system and help ensure reliable positioning, navigation and timing capabilities for U.S. forces.
We introduced PAC-3® Adapted Capability Effector (PAC-3 ACE™), a high-performance, lower-cost interceptor designed to counter a wide range of air and missile threats at less than half the cost of PAC-3 MSE per unit. Built on proven PAC-3 technology and designed for rapid fielding, PAC-3 ACE will expand affordable air defense options for U.S. and allied forces while strengthening the defense industrial base through American and European partnerships.
Lockheed Martin launched 25Forward, a five-year, $25 million initiative to preserve the history and lessons of September 11 while supporting responders, survivors and communities. The initiative includes a $10 million contribution to the Pentagon Memorial Visitor Education Center and will advance efforts focused on preparedness, service and honoring those who protect our nation.
