On Monday, 25 August 2025, a working meeting was held in Zagreb between the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia, Gordan Grlić Radman, and the Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Johann Wadephul.

The talks between the two ministers focused on key issues of Croatian-German relations and cooperation within the European Union and NATO, with an emphasis on defense and security, energy, migration, transatlantic cooperation, the enlargement of the European Union, and current events in Ukraine and the Western Balkans. The importance of strategic infrastructure projects and economic cooperation was particularly emphasized, including the expansion of the LNG terminal capacity on the island of Krk and its connection to Bavaria, which further strengthens energy security and independence of supply in Central Europe.

In the conversation, Minister Grlić Radman emphasized the importance of keeping Bosnia and Herzegovina on the European path and ensuring its long-term stability, for which respect for the constitutional principles of equality of the three constituent peoples is of particular importance.

As part of the visit, Minister Wadephul also gave a presentation at the Conference of Croatian Ambassadors, Consuls General and Military Attachés, where he presented Germany's views on current geopolitical challenges and the strengthening of European security and global stability.

The meeting and the participation of the German Minister at the Conference once again confirmed the close and friendly relations between Croatia and Germany, based on common values and interests and intertwined with numerous economic, cultural and human ties.
