Philadelphia, PA (August 18, 2026) - Congratulations to Trummel Baker, who has been selected to receive the Where Ability Leads the Way Award from Philadelphia Intellectual disAbility Services (IDS) and the Department of Behavioral Health and Intellectual disAbility Services (DBHIDS).
The award recognizes individuals, teams, organizations, and community partners who help create communities where people with intellectual disabilities are valued for their abilities, supported in pursuing their goals, and empowered to lead meaningful, self-directed lives. Recipients exemplify inclusion by promoting choice, opportunity, belonging, and participation while helping others recognize possibility rather than limitation.
Trummel was nominated by Gale Williams and selected from more than 50 nominations reviewed by the IDS Public Awareness Committee. He will be honored during the 26th Annual Points of Transformation Awards Ceremony on September 25 in Philadelphia.
For 26 years, the Points of Transformation Awards have celebrated dedicated professionals and advocates who go above and beyond to ensure individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism have the opportunity to live rich, fulfilling lives in their communities.
Please join us in congratulating Trummel on this well-deserved recognition and thanking him for his commitment to helping people achieve their goals and lead lives of meaning and purpose.
