Kaiser Permanente Labor Strike Has Begun

On Friday, January 23, LACERA alerted members to a possible United Nurses Associations of California/Union of Health Care Professionals (UNAC/UHCP) strike. On Monday, January 26, UNAC/UHCP began an open-ended strike in California and Hawaii.

Kaiser reports that contingency plans are in place to ensure continued access to safe, high-quality care. All Kaiser Permanente hospitals, emergency rooms, and medical offices will remain open during the strike. Some nonurgent appointments, surgeries, and procedures may need to be rescheduled. Kaiser will contact you directly if your care is affected.

For more information on the labor strike, including a list of affected facilities, visit Kaiser's Southern California, Northern California, or Hawaii alert pages.
