Isabell Koske has been serving as Deputy Director of the Country Studies Branch in the Economics Department since 2018, where she helps shape the Department's strategic agenda and oversees the preparation of the OECD Economic Surveys.
Prior to her current position, Ms Koske served as Senior Advisor and Advisor in the OECD Secretary-General's Office, where she oversaw the Better Policies Series and supported the Secretary-General through strategic advice and the preparation of meetings and missions. Earlier in her OECD career, she led the Structural Indicators Team in the Economics Department, worked as an economist on the Germany, Slovak Republic and Slovenia desks, and conducted research on a wide range of macro and structural policy topics.
Before joining the OECD, Ms Koske taught economics and mathematics at WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management and the Koblenz Academy of Administration and Business.
A German national, she holds a Ph.D. in Economics and graduate degrees in Business Administration from WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management as well a Masters of Science in Applied Mathematics from FernUniversität in Hagen.
