Cancer Center in Redmond now open

Hope lives at our new Cancer Center in Redmond, where more than 400 caregivers, cancer survivors, family members and community leaders gathered on April 16 to celebrate its opening.

Guests were welcomed with opening remarks from St. Charles leaders and board members, along with an inspiring story shared by a local patient. The event also featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by the opportunity to tour the new facility.

"The opening of this center is a dream more than a decade in the making. For years, we have planned for this, as we saw the population of Central Oregon growing and the need for services expanding," said Dr. Linyee Chang, executive medical director for the St. Charles Cancer Institute. "I'm thrilled to see this project through to completion, knowing how many patients will receive exceptional care within these walls."

At 53,000 square feet - nine times larger than our former Cancer Center in Redmond - the new facility will serve up to 300 patients a day and bring award-winning cancer care closer to home for residents of Redmond, Madras, Prineville, Sisters, Warm Springs and beyond.

It includes clinical space for radiation oncology, surgical oncology, medical oncology and integrative therapies, as well as 36 exam rooms and a large chemotherapy infusion room with views of the Cascade mountains.
