H-FARM School Brings AI Into the Classroom Starting at Age 6

Artificial Intelligence in the Classroom at H-FARM International School

Starting in September 2025, the 3 campuses of H-FARM International School in Venice, Vicenza, and Rosà will officially launch the Human Plus Curriculum, a new academic program that brings artificial intelligence into every subject. Not as a standalone topic, but as a tool embedded across the entire curriculum, helping students prepare for a world where AI is already part of everyday life.

This new curriculum is the result of a joint effort between our R&D lab H-FARM AI, Computer Science teachers at the school, and faculty from H-FARM College's tech degree programs.

H-FARM is proud to be the first International Baccalaureate (IB) school in the world to fully integrate artificial intelligence into its academic framework.

How the Human Plus Curriculum Works

It follows the spiral learning model by psychologist Jerome Bruner: AI-related concepts are introduced in simple ways during early school years and revisited over time with growing complexity. For example:

  • At age 6: students learn what an algorithm is by playing sequencing games, like giving step-by-step instructions to make a sandwich
  • At age 12: that same idea becomes a Scratch or Python code to make a robot move
  • At age 17: students design tools that make data-based decisions or explore ethical aspects

Even non-tech subject teachers have been trained to confidently include AI in their lessons and use it to enrich their students' understanding.
