CU Biology Students Shine at the 57th Annual CPUB Conference

CU students and faculty at the 57th Annual Conference of the Commonwealth of PA University Biologists.

Students from Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania traveled to Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania for the 57th Annual Conference of the Commonwealth of PA University Biologists (CPUB) held on April 11.

Students representing both the Lock Haven and Mansfield campuses attended the conference and earned top awards for their outstanding research presentations.

CU Biology was well represented by Dr. Heather Bechtold (Lock Haven), Dr. Jenny Bandura (Lock Haven), Dr. Kristen Long (Mansfield), and Dr. Kevin Williams (Bloomsburg), who supported the students and celebrated their success.

Students who attended and presented work from other labs, including Dr. Joe Calabrese, Dr. Greg Moyer (Mansfield), and Dr. Dan Spooner (Lock Haven).

Students were able to share their science, connect with peers, and engage with faculty from across the PASSHE system.

  • 1st Place - Cell & Molecular Platform: Wonsick, E.N. (Kristen Long) - Mansfield Campus
  • 1st Place - Graduate Platform: Brown, N.E. (Dan Spooner) - Lock Haven Campus
