Korean President promises smooth signing of Dukovany contract

Prague, Sept 19 (CTK) - The South Korean government will ensure that the process leading to the signing of the contract with KHNP company for building new nuclear units at the Czech nuclear power plant Dukovany will be smooth, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol said after talks with Czech President Petr Pavel today.

The Korean President arrived in Prague about two months after the Czech government decided that two new reactors at Dukovany should be built by South Korea's KHNP.

The Czech power utility CEZ, which operates the power plant, is now negotiating with the Koreans about the contract that should be signed by April. The first of the new reactors at Dukovany should be ready in 2036.
