A Messagefrom Kevin Biersack,Financial Services Director…
|
In the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/2026 adopted budget, City Council plans to approve a General Fund Community Assistance Grant Program in supporting requests for grants and sponsorships from community non-profit organizations and other governmental jurisdictions. The program totals $70,000 and provides grant applications to be submitted for projects with funding requests between $1,000 and $10,000.
|
In addition, the City is offering a General Fund Public Arts Commission Grant Program for $20,000 with funding requests up to $5,000 to support art programming and educational endeavors within the community.
|
To be considered for funding, these are the program guidelines:
|
-
Applicants must be a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization or a tribal or governmental agency.
-
Applicants must be based in Cathedral City or demonstrate they provide services to residents or businesses of Cathedral City.
-
Applicants must be able to demonstrate they receive funding from other sources and are not relying only on City support.
-
Preference will be given to applicants meeting health and human service needs of underserved populations.
This program was advertised in the Desert Sun on March 14, 2025. In addition, information was sent to local media and advertised on the City's website, social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Nextdoor), and has been included on the Discover Cathedral City website. Grant applications can be submitted via:
|
-
Email to rvogt@cathedralcity.gov or addressed to the City of Cathedral City, 68700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero, Cathedral City CA 92234, ATTN: Rick Vogt, Finance Department.
-
Email to aambrose@cathedralcity.gov or addressed to the City of Cathedral City, 68700 Avenida Lalo Guerrero, Cathedral City CA 92234, ATTN: Anne Ambrose, Assistant City Manager.
Grant applications must be received by 5:00 pm PDT on Friday, April 18, 2025. The City Council has appointed an Ad Hoc subcommittee to review the applications. We anticipate the applications will be reviewed by the subcommittee no later than Friday, May 10, 2025. Once the subcommittee recommendations are finalized, the proposed grant awards will be presented to the City Council for review and approval at the June 25, 2025, meeting.
