Assemblymember Connolly Appointed as Chair of Assembly Committee on Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials

Assemblymember Connolly will serve as Chair of the Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials Committee for the 2025-26 legislative session.

SACRAMENTO, CA - Today, Assemblymember Damon Connolly (D-San Rafael) was appointed as chair of the Assembly Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials Committee by Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas. The Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials Committee presides over legislation related to toxic substances and hazardous materials, hazardous waste regulation, drinking water safety, and pesticides.

"I am honored that Speaker Rivas has entrusted me with chairmanship of the Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials Committee, and the opportunity to take leadership on critical issues that directly impact communities in the North Bay and across the state," said Assemblymember Connolly.
