LEESBURG, VA - U.S. Representative Suhas Subramanyam (VA-10) released the following statement ahead of tonight's Nokesville to Bristow power line event:

"Our community is speaking out and making its voice heard.

And we have all been clear: we must underground these lines.

Say no to lines that give billionaire and trillionaire corporations a windfall on our dime.

Say no to lines that hurt our homes, small farms, and livelihoods.

Say no to permanent damage to our community.

The current Nokesville to Bristow routes they are proposing are unacceptable.

They may tell us that this is the best they can do. They may even tell us that the two proposed routes are our only options.

Well, that's not true.

Our community deserves to know that every effort will be made to mitigate the negative impacts of this line.

And if undergrounding is expensive, the data centers need to pay for it.

So to the people at Dominion: I am calling on you to immediately revisit undergrounding.

It's time to listen to the community."
