Weather-dependent work, including temporary partial closures to begin Monday, March 16, 2026

PHILADELPHIA - The Streets Department announces the start of maintenance work on the Bells Mill Road Bridge in the Wissahickon Valley Park. This work includes concrete and stone repairs to the bridge structure, starting Monday, March 16th, 2026, and continuing for one to two weeks, weather depending.

Two-way traffic will be maintained except for temporary single-lane closures as needed during work hours between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. During these partial closures, a flagger will direct traffic in one direction at a time.

This work is separate from the larger rehabilitation project currently anticipated to start construction in Spring 2027. More information about that project is available on the project webpage.

The Streets Department asks everyone to help keep work zones safe by slowing down, paying closer attention, and following all detours and directions when traveling near roadwork.
