Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Passes The Dalilah Law

For Immediate Release:

Washington, DC (March 18, 2026) -- Today, the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee passed The Dalilah Law. Congressman Tim Burchett (TN-02) joined Congressman Rouzer (NC-07) in introducing this important legislation to strengthen roadway safety.

The Dalilah Law comes in the wake of a wreck caused by an illegal alien semitruck driver, leaving a five-year-old child nonverbal and paralyzed due to traumatic brain and back injuries. Under the Biden Administration's open border policy, an unknown number of illegal aliens obtained commercial driver's licenses (CDLs). With an increase in semitruck accidents caused by illegal aliens, The Dalilah Law is essential to providing safety to Americans on our own roads.

"If you can't read or write in English, you should not be able to drive. Especially a semitruck," said Congressman Burchett. "Congress needs to put American lives above all else. Our roads should not be littered with illegal aliens operating heavy machinery and forever impacting the lives of innocent American children, like Dalilah Coleman."
