Condé Nast today announced the appointment of Vasanth Williams as its new chief product and technology officer. He will officially assume the role on December 8 and join the company's executive leadership team.
Williams has led product, engineering and technology divisions at some of the world's most influential media and technology companies, including Amazon, Microsoft, and Yodle. Most recently, he served as chief product officer and executive vice president of engineering at Major League Baseball, where he oversaw innovation across streaming, fan experience and on-field technology.
As chief product and technology officer of Condé Nast, Williams will help advance the company's digital experience with new tools and platforms, including the thoughtful use of AI to deepen direct relationships with audiences. He will work with editorial teams to deliver more personalized content and user journeys, guide the evolution of the company's core platforms, and support the development of products that strengthen how consumers engage with the company's global portfolio.
The appointment reflects Condé Nast's continued investment in advanced product and technology capabilities that support its global portfolio of iconic brands.
"Our technology and product ambitions are central to how we serve audiences today. As we deepen that commitment, Vasanth is exactly the leader we need," said Condé Nast CEO Roger Lynch, to whom Williams will report. "His track record across media, technology and large-scale innovation makes him uniquely suited for this moment. Combined with our continued investment in building world-class product capabilities, his leadership will help ensure we stay competitive in a media landscape defined by rapid technological change."
Regarding his appointment, Williams added, "I'm excited to be joining Condé Nast at a time of transformative change across our industry. With its unparalleled portfolio of iconic, premium brands, the company is positioned to lead through industry shifts, especially in the age of AI, while upholding the exceptional journalism and storytelling its audiences rely on. I'm especially honored to partner with the company's leaders and creatives to help shape the next generation of products and experiences for our audiences and partners."
Williams holds an MBA from Duke University and a master's degree in computer science from Oregon State University.
