Elmore Road Closure Starts September 15

BNSF will close the railroad crossing on Elmore Road starting on Monday, September 15, 2025.

Elmore Road will be closed between Laura Road and Nightingale Road all day Monday. The road is expected to reopen by 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, weather permitting.

The closure is necessary for railroad grade crossing upgrades.

The Peoria County Highway Department requests motorists avoid the area.
