Addis Issues Statement Following Two-Party Budget Proposal Protecting Healthcare

For immediate release:
Thursday, June 11, 2026

SACRAMENTO-Assemblymember Dawn Addis (D-Morro Bay), Chair of the Budget Subcommittee No. 1 on Health, issued the following statement regarding the Legislature's two-party budget proposal announcement:

"As Chair of the Assembly budget subcommittee No. 1 on Health, I am proud of the legislature's budget proposal, which makes vital investments and restorations in healthcare," said Addis. "Vulnerable Californians depend on the healthcare system California has built and expanded. The legislatures proposal directly responds to billions in cuts from Trump's H.R. 1 and repeated Republican attacks on healthcare with a responsible and stable plan. We are funding the programs that protects access to care for millions of Californians, including women, seniors, children, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, and more. As we weather the largest federal rollback of healthcare in American history, California legislators stand with our people."

The Legislature has until June 15 to pass a budget, as required by the California Constitution.

The full budget proposal can be found here.

Dawn Addis was elected to the California State Assembly in 2022 to represent the coastal 30th Assembly District, which includes San Luis Obispo, Monterey, and Santa Cruz Counties. She is the Chair of the Assembly Budget Subcommittee 1 on Health.
